Beauty Letdown: Ultimate Lift Eye Gel PM by Ole Henriksen

I love eye cream. Thanks to my mom, who has worked in the skin care industry for many years, I've been using eye cream since college. I'm 28 now and totally recommend incorporating eye products into your beauty routine even before you "need" them. Prevention is key! :)

I was in Sephora a while ago and came across the Ultimate Lift Eye Gel by Ole Henriksen. Formulated to use at night, it "harnesses the natural power of cucumber and calendula to counter signs of fatigue, irritation, and age. It intensely hydrates, using humectants to plump, firm, and smooth the often-neglected eye zone."

The one thing I enjoy about this product is the light cooling sensation it gives to the eye area after applying. The worst thing about this eye gel is that it does. not. dry. Once you apply it, you better not smile, squint, yawn, or do anything else that may make your face move - the gel is so tacky that it makes the very thin skin around the eye area stick together. Trust me, this is not a pleasant feeling.

I'm still using this eye product very, very sparingly at night (definitely do not try wearing this during the day!) because I feel like it does deliver in terms of skin care benefits. Because of its annoying sticky/tacky texture, though, the Ultimate Lift Eye Gel is unfortunately a beauty letdown.
